    hi there,

i've recently received my X220 i7 and upgraded it with an Intel 320 SSD.. I did a fresh install of WIN7 Pro and also installed all drivers directly from lenovo.. I set the energy saving options to max. performance both on charger and battery..

sorry, it's in german but you should get the idea:

For comparison, I have a X220 with I7 and Intel 510 SSD at:

    Component Details Subscore Base score
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2620M CPU @ 2.70GHz 7.1
    Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB 5.9
Graphics Intel(R) HD Graphics Family 5.7
Gaming graphics 1696 MB Total available graphics memory 6.2
Primary hard disk 192GB Free (222GB Total) 7.8
    Windows 7 Professional

    5.7 Determined by lowest subscore

I have the latest drivers for everything.

There are a lot of threads about this, the battery is required to achieve full performance.

Like I said before, you can put almost all 9.5mm 2.5" SSD into the X220 just by removing one of the cover. That's what he did, I'm sure.

I'm not sure how different the 510 is from other Intel SSDs, but my X25-M has a spacer that you can remove to reduce the drive profile to 7mm.

The 510 is 9.5mm in height alone, it does not come with a spacer.

Yes, I mean the metal casing. It does void your drive's warranty though, so make your decision wisely.

Interesting that your Graphics are 4.2... mine (i7 X220T) fresh out of the box are 4.7. I wonder why that is?

He had his battery out or something along those lines, so his readings are off due to performance reduction by the BIOS.
