I love the WUXGA screen in my Toughbook 52. I thought I could not stand it but you get used to the high resolution pretty quickly. On the contrary I thought the 1080p Vaio Z was a little too much. (loved it anyway!)

1440x900 on a 12in is nice...1600x900 on a 12.5 will be about as nice. If only they offered a 1680x1050 on my x200 I think it would be perfect for working at this size.

well at least there's a date. I was set to order a T420, but mainly because it supported 1600x900. If the x220 really supports HD+, I'd prob get that instead. I wish they would confirm or deny it so I dont have to wait a month for nothing.

The T420 has a bigger screen and discrete graphics.
    Unfortunately, no IPS.

I don't know, he didn't really word it suggesting he had insider information this time, but more like he wouldn't expect it.

OH, I did see that post and the statement wasn't anywhere near a confirmation. But I didnt realize he was an insider. Oh well, it would have been nice, I guess I'm getting a T420

That's a good point, if Lenovo would really be offering a HD+ panel, why wouldn't they advertise this?

Maybe it's not available yet, or maybe it's going to be part of a not-yet-announced X220s. I don't know, maybe they're just playing with the idea, trying to get a panel in production, or maybe it's all wishful thinking.

good idea.   i changed the title to something more appropriate since this is purely speculation at this point in time.

as long as things remain civil there's no reason to lock it.   it's not the forum's job to manage people's expectations.   if members speculate about something and wind up being incorrect, that's their fault.

as the saying goes, "don't believe everything you read on the internet." :)
