Sorry if this has been asked before, I have tried searching through forums/google but mostly found results for older Thinkpads. I am mostly concerned with the x220t, but hopefully this will remain constant across the x220 models.

The first question I was wondering about pertains to dual monitors: does the x220 support it, and if so, how? I noticed in the tabook that it claims that dual monitors are supported, but doesn't exactly specify how/what resolutions it can handle. If you buy an ultrabase (series 3?) could you just connect two monitors to the two displayports (I would prefer not use VGA), one on the laptop itself and the other on the dock? If so, exactly up to what resolution can it support? Can it support two monitors at 1080p? And if this method doesn't work, is there any other method for using dual monitors with the x220?

The second question I was curious about is whether the displayport connection used supports 120hz. The tabook mentions that it can support up to 2560x1600 at 60hz, but nothing of120 hz support. Does anyone know if this is supported on the x220?

    Thanks for the help!

    Anyone? =/

I believe I found a Lenovo guide for setting up monitors, but it only applies to units that take the mini dock (T series, W series, X (non tablet)) and don't make any mention of the ultrabase. In addition, it's for setting up triple or quad display configurations, and I only need dual monitors (two external, thinkpad screen off) if that makes a difference.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I think you would need a Displayport to Dual-Link DVI adapter to get 120 Hz
