X220 shipped

The first X220 CTO orders are beginning to trickle out.

My X220 shipped this morning. I ordered in the beginning of April from an academic site. My most recent ship date estimate was 5/11--which was clearly not accurate.

I ordered the first week of April--it was available on my insitution's site before April 19.

 

I placed my order on 4/20 and on the order summary page, it shows that it's estimated to ship on 5/16, but after chatting today to check the status, the representative got a hold of the supply team and he told me it would ship the week of 5/4 so the estimated date appears to be a very conservative prediction where in fact it should probably be about 10-12 days earlier. The rep also told me to follow up/chat again in 2-3 days for a better prediction..

 

orderd x220 on Apr. 21st, got notice and checked online status, showing the laptop was shipped today!!

But I have to return this order for some reason.

Are you saying Lenovo said you have to return it or for personal reasons? Of course don't tell the personal reasons. I was just curious if it was Lenovo saying that.

I got the same notification as Upper on the week of 5/4 ship date. Rep said any time on or before 5/4 to me... so could be pretty soon for a lot of people.

 

I ordered mine on the 18th and today I received an email saying that my order was canceled. I am in UK. When I called the support they said that it is because of the extension battery and that I need to restart the whole process. I am expecting a call tomorrow to ofer a new one. I am totaly p.issed off with them

Do you remember what your latest estimated shipping date was? I'm trying to cancel an order I made on the same date and my request was finally logged into whatever system they use (I had to contact 4 different reps before the request to cancel finally appeared with my oldest order)

How are you dealing with returning the package? Are you going to refuse the package or are you going to go through their return process and pay to ship it back? The shipping cost will probably eat up half the amount of money I saved by placing my second, cheaper order...

 

Got an email saying my x220 has shipped. No tracking info yet, it says that it will be available in 24 hours.

 

Got shipment notification today as well. Ordered 4/23, estimated ship 5/13.

 

Interesting -- it must be based on component availability. I ordered on the 19th and my status is still "In Process".

Anyone with an i7 on order receive a shipping notification yet?

Here's my config if anyone wants to cross reference parts availability. I also paid the $10 for 2-3 day shipping but doubt that got it built any faster.

My config is pretty identical to Vin's, except I upgraded to the 320gb 7200rpm drive. My shipped today as well with 2-3 shipping. Seems like the first batch of these should be going out today/tomorrow.

 

My build is very similar minus the win 7 pro, fingerprint reader, and I have the centrino 1000 wifi. I also order on the 23th. Hopefully mine will ship today or tomorrow!

 

Dang, I'm also from Chicago and ordered 4/21, but hasn't shipped yet. My estimate is 5/17. Lowest i3 config (no BT or anything like that), but with HD Premium 3x3 screen. Also with 2-3 day shipping. Let me know what the shipping estimate from UPS is for you when tracking number shows up (meaning how long it will take to get to you)

 

I ordered a x220T with essentially maxed configs (with the exception of RAM and HDD, only got 4gb and the 320gb 7200 hd). have an estimated ship of 5/17 as well. Ordered on 4/22.

 

I just talked to a rep and he said that they hadn't even sent the request to the warehouse yet, which kind of sucks since I ordered on the same date as vin

 

EDIT: My first order placed on the 20th that was supposed to be canceled was the one that shipped. The second order that was placed on the 23rd is identical to the first one, only difference was an extra 5% off in price once I found out about the Corportateperks/coupon (now expired). So customer service has now to put in a request to cancel the second one and they're price matching on the first. Hopefully the second one doesn't ship too otherwise I'll get billed for two and will then have to wait on the refund (which they promised to not charge shipping or restocking fee one) for the second after it arrives and I send it to Mooresville.

Cliffs: it is first order, first serve. Those who ordered in the first couple days should expect their machines to ship soon barring parts unavailability.

Did you happen to see if they charged your card the day it shipped or before that? I know mine is in production (at least that's what the rep said), but my card still hasn't been charged. I was assuming they do that when it is complete or something?

By the way... is your UN based on the M83 song?

well that is good news some are starting to ship.. ordered on the 4/21. basic build like vinu's except lower i5 proc and win hom 64. I hope it goes out soon!! No e-mails or changes on the order status

Not alphabetical, I don't think. Both my first and last names start with B. Lol, funny to even bring it up, but it's a real mystery on how they choose to ship.

Doesn't seem to be by config. A few people here said theirs is pretty much identical to vins but theirs hasn't shipped

No, I received my sleeve today that shipped a few days ago. I'm in the Cleveland area. I have no idea the ship order, I really wasn't expecting the email until next week at the earliest. My config is the same as many with the i5 2410, camera, BT, IPS, 250GB HD, Centrino 6205.

I haven't even gotten a chance to order my extra 2gb of memory.

 

Maybe people who ordered with sales rep got push to the head of class rather then doing it online ? - who knows....

I ordered on 4/20, and just got a shipment confirmation today.

 

I ordered from a rep on April 19th so that didn't work for me. It seems entirely random.

 

I ordered 4/21 and mine shipped today. I tried to change configuration but it was too late. If I do not open, does anyone know the return policy. I do not mine paying for shipping, but would like to avoid a restocking fee. I just want to bump to the i7 over the i5. Thanks if anyone knows the answer.

If it helps for shipping info, I ordered the base i5, ips, 4 GB ram, 320 - 7200 HD, camera, and Bluetooth.

 

I did receive my shipment confirmation 2 hours ago 4:40. Good news

 

Same order as that plus 9 cell ordered on 4/19. Order Info screen shows 5/12. Still nothing from them. CSR said should ship by 4/29 and arrive next week though.

 

So far only i5's have been shipped it seems

 

i also got the same exact configuration but with a 9 cell instead. maybe there's a shortage for 9 cell batteries?

I ordered mine without the biometric fingerprint reader. Anyone had a system ship with that configuration option?

 

same dilemma as you folks. ordered 2x. 1x without VIP code and 1 with. i am still having trouble cancelling even though i called 2x and had online chat also.

a bit disappointed how hard it is to cancel an order since i tried on 4/25 and 4/27. on the other hand, very happy that i got a 5/3 ship date for one and 5/4 for the 2nd one.

if they shipped through UPS, i can refuse shipping online and don't have to waste a day not going into work.
