    Advantages and disadvantages of both?

Two advantages I can think of with the 2560p is that it is made of metal and looks sleeker, and it has an optical drive.

The X220 has the Thinkpad keyboard, though, and IPS screen.

Metal on the outside isn't necessarily an advantage except for maybe in aesthetics.

X220 vs 2560p I would say go Lenovo. X220 tablet vs 2760p on the other hand, slight advantage for HP there because of the 16:10 1200x800 screen.

Unless you use dvd drive often when you are on the road, I don't use dvd often so having on the computer is useless. Doesn't the HP come with a very good return policy.

Ive never used any of them, but Id go for ThinkPad due to better battery design(they stick out less than on HP, at least thats how it was with 2540p, 2560p has slight chassis changes, dont know if it affects the battery design with HP), considerably lower weight and its probably thinner as well, because Dell and HP went bigger and heavier this year with their redesigns.
