I've noticed some terrible audio glitches with Windows 8 x64 on my X220. Every few seconds I here clicks and pops independent of the Player used, but it is more noticable the higher the quality of the music (persistent in WAV, FLAC etc., barely noticable in MP3).

When I set the performance in the energy settings to "Maximum" the glitches disappear completely, but anything below maximum performance again shows the glitches.

How can this be? Surely an i5 should have enough power on dynamic setting to play any files. All drivers are up-to-date. Does anyone has any suggestions?

I haven't had the same issues and am also using Win 8 x64 on an i5 x220. I will take a look when I can (it may be a couple of days) and see if I can duplicate your issues.
