Hi guys,
My X220 is refusing to boot. When I press the power button, I get the thinkpad logo, and immediately get "Thermal Sensing Error" and then it shuts off.
Of note, I set 'tpfancontrol' to manual mode and set the fan to 'off'. Did that have something to do with this? When I changed that setting, the computer remained on and was working fine. But once I turned the notebook off, it simply will not turn back on again.
What do I do? I'm freaking out. It's not even letting me go into BIOS... is there a way I can bypass the message or hack the bios or do something?
Please help. Thanks!

Usually that means the fan isn't working. Have you cleaned the fan?

Any thoughts? -
Just wanted to update: I fixed the issue thankfully. All it took was taking apart the laptop, unplugging the fan from motherboard and re-plugging it back in.
So stressful yet so simple.huntnyc likes this.
