So I've finally gotten around to bringing my X220T to the office, and have replaced my desktop with the base. I am running two 22" Viewsonic VG2236wm-LED monitors, one VGA and one via a DP-DVI cable purchased from MonoPrice. The cable is DP-DVI-28-10.

When I hooked everything up yesterday it was great, but today after bootup only the VGA monitor was detected. Multiple tries to 'Detect' in the settings and power cycling the monitor did not bring it up.

I finally removed the DP cable from the Ultrabase and then reseated it... this resulted in the monitor immediately being detected and set as master identical to yesterday.
Edit - Both monitors are detected fine with a reboot... this only occurs with full shutdown / power up.

Is there a way around this practice, or will I need to perform this everytime? I have not had this issue with HDMI-DVI cables in similar situations.

    Thanks

I use Lenovo's DP to DVI cable and don't have such problems. But I'm running a slightly different setup (one monitor instead of two, x220 instead of x220t). Are you seeing the same problem with just one monitor attached?

Well, this apparently was only an issue after a 1st bootup in that configuration. Subsequent reboots seem to handling the two displays normally. Thanks for the reply.
    It's a wonderful setup...
