The X220T CTO page just had a major price hike today - circa 50% !

Damn. I'm not surprised that it went up due to the demand and apparent supply issues, but that is nuts.

Guess I'll be laughing at all of the suckers who waited to order as I continue to stare at "Scheduled to Ship."

Finally registered here just to express my shock at that price increase.

I don't see that lasting. They are just quoting the un-discounted price. I would be shocked if the price doesn't drop back down fairly quickly.

I figured they would jump up to the standard price after a while. Over the last month+, each laptop had a standard discount already applied when you started. They just revoked that discount.

Not really. The price was always that, even if you chose to ignore the original price and look only at the discounted one.

Id say they removed their introductory pricing for the standard model.

    Standard business practice.

It will come back Dutch, dont worry. You could also try some of the Lenovo resellers and look for topseller versions. These do not fluctuate very much and are generally a pretty good deal.

I guess I'll just watch and see what happens. I certainly will not buy at today's pricing.

You can always try and call or chat online to a sales rep and see if they can't get you in at yesterdays prices.

Based on "Ships in more than 4 weeks" it seems like they may be purposefully controlling demand while supply catches up.

The price hike is the price error. Relax it will come down. Still the same price in Canada.

Despite loving the original starting price, if you were to compare the x220T against the x201T in terms of specs and prices, the current (non-discounted) prices are much more inline with previous x201T pricing.

That point aside, there should be a new discount avaialble in the near term. Lenovo is probably making adjustments to the site and took down the discount in the interim. I'd don't recall seeing non-discounted prices on the site very often.
