Finally got my long awaited X220T and I have to report very sadly that it delivers the functionally and performance I was interested in, but is unbelievably buggy and irritating. The primary issues I'm having (but not the only ones) are around power management. I have it set so that closing the lid should make the tablet sleep - it does not - it just keeps running and runs down battery. Worse, when I put it to sleep by pressing power or sleep, it won't always wake up and requires a hard reboot, losing all saved data. In the week I've owned it, it has already recovered itself from 3 blue screens. I'm very disappointed. Screen bleed is horrific also but I would live with that if I didn't have these other show stoppers going on.
I guess it goes back to Lenovo - I assume these aren't issues others are working through somehow, right (excluding screen bleed)? Yes I have tried searching the forum...
Finger print reader is worthless I have learned, but that might be specific to the functionality - I had never tried it before. If I had it to do again I'd get the gorilla glass and forego multi-touch, which it turns out is just not that useful on a Win7 machine, at least for me. But again, those are things I'd live with if my PC wouldn't force me to hard reset it twice a day.

Try restoring it to factory defaults again?

My X220 does not often wake from Suspend when I have my WWAN ExpressCard plugged in. Otherwise it seems to wake from Suspend fine.
I suggest trying Suspend after unplugging any ExpressCards, USB devices, USB keys, and memory cards (SD cards, etc.). See if that makes any difference.
Run System Update and update your installed software to the latest version (Start > Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools > Update and Drivers).
Run Windows Update and make sure you have the latest updates installed.
You might try disabling "Hybrid Sleep" in Power Manager.
Haven't yet tried the Fingerprint Reader on my X220, so can't comment on that. -
Good suggestions, thanks.
I do not have a WWAN ExpressCard so it's not that. I have a bunch of USB devices. If it is design intent that it won't wake from suspend if something is plugged in to a USB slot, that is just ludicrous and I'm not buying another Lenovo if that's the case.
I have run System and Windows Update and updated everything under the sun including BIOS. -
I have an untested theory that it might be trying to resume from a memory card instead of the hard drive (my WWAN ExpressCard does have some flash storage memory on it). If a USB memory device or other memory device is listed before the hard drive in the boot order it may possibly cause problems on resume. Disabling Hybrid Sleep might make a difference here. There are some other USB and sleep options that also might make a difference depending upon how they are set.
There are some Windows Install Supplements that address certain Suspend issues, such as KB974410.

Or maybe they could deliver a stock PC that doesn't require hours of research and maintenance right out of the box. Very disappointing overall.
I'll check the BIOS boot setting and support database. Sheesh. What value are the lenovo system update/maintenance/health apps if they aren't exhaustive? -
It sounds as though one of your USB devices is causing the issue. You might want to take a look at this, it should at least help you find the problem: Power Efficiency Diagnostics Report - Windows 7 Forums

FWIW, on my x22o, i can sleep the machine by closing the lid, pressing Fn-F4, or by Start|Shutdown|Sleep, and it wakes instantly on pressing the power button.
I have had three or four BSODs, all when connected to an ad hoc wifi network and transferring files. -
I've tried with zero USB devices connected - makes no difference. I have reset factory settings also no delta.
Disappointing. The blue screens and failure to ever restore on some occasions have me wondering if it is device specific. Really disappointing either way. -
Did you try running powercfg from the guide in my earlier post?
-
Yes I did and it tells me long list of fascinating facts but none seem related to my issues. Thanks though - all input/suggestions welcome.

Do you not see anything that's giving you any warning as to what is preventing the machine from going it sleep?
I just ordered the x220t with an i7 so I'm understand I'm understandably curious about your problem and hope that you can get it fixed.
Good luck! -
I have had many issues with my x220t, but as I got it over a week ago, I have had a chance to figure some stuff out. Look at my blog for help:

Thanks I will review your log. I stand by my primary concern and criticism though which is that a brand new $1000+ laptop should not require research, debugging, and config changes for two weeks by borderline IT technicians in order to function correctly!!! I am very disappointed in Lenovo.
