I have been a silent reader of this Lenovo forum since 2009 I First I got T500 (in 2009 ) and then X230 ( in 2012 ). Whenever I had issues or questions, I usually got answers from searching in this forum. I learned from here how I can replace the HDD with mSATA for X230, although it took me one whole Saturday. :) However, this time I am having serious issue with my X230 for 3 weeks and I can't get the issue solved.

    The issue is
    1) when I turned on my X230, I noticed there are 2 battery icons,
and 2) whenever I moved the mouse to the task bar area, the mouse kept circling and not responding.

The following is the best I can do:
    1) run Windows Task Manager, and in Process Tab, I right-clicked 'explorer.exe' and selected 'Open File Location'.
    2) Then I got "Windows Explorer Not Responding" message and then I clicked "Restart the program".
    3) Finally I can open a file in Windows Explorer but Sometimes I had to Step 2 at least 4 times to make this working.
    4) But when I moved my mouse into the task bar area, the mouse was still not responding. So I cannot even go to Start button and had to power off computer by pressing power button.

    I have tried the following:
    1) scanned my computer by Avast and no virus found.
    2) I once can even successfully did Windows updates, and still this problem continued.
    3) running msconfig.exe disabled all but Microsoft service at Startup.

From the google result, most people who had similar issue was caused by the mouse they used. OK, I do use a Logitech wireless mouse, but I have tried unplug the mouse usb thing before I powered up. I don't remember if this is normal, but when I turned on my laptop and before the Windows login screen appeared, I noticed my screen dim quite a bit.

I was debating could this is my Windows problems and not hardware related, but from the web, some people who had similar issues had re-installed the system twice and no success. So I started to wonder could this is hardware issue.

I guess my main reason to post here is because I have lenovo on site service. Can I use it? :) I am in Washington DC area.

Please advice. Thanks and sorry for my English.
