Alright, I upgraded from the classic T60 to a X230T and I've noticed a few quirks. Obviously this is my second ThinkPad and I missed a lot of technology inbetween the T60 and X230T.

First, the touch screen becomes unresponsive to both pen and finger, but if I press the rotation button then screen becomes responsive again. I don't know if it's because I'm new to tablet touchscreens or if its because I'm holding it in a certain position, i.e. lying on the couch.

Another quirk, speakers seem to crackle when turned all the way up. Maybe it's because they're small speakers or maybe it's the type of music being played. They don't crackle for every type of music. It seems my old T60 has better sound quality, then again the X230T has tiny speakers.

    Has anyone encountered the same?

Just got mine today so I can't say a lot, but I think the speakers on this thing are better than on my old T60. They crackle at the max volume, but are a decent bit louder, IMO. Haven't noticed the touch/pen responsiveness problem yet.

Been using mine for over a week and have not seen that touchscreen activity. I don't have any crackling, but I don't really play music much and not at high level. Did you try adjusting the sound levels in the Dolby control panel applet to reduce the low end a little to get rid of the buzz?

Yes, I accessed the Dolby control panel, after I got the speakers to crackle. It only crackles for loud and heavy tunes, especially when the volume is maxed out or close to max. I'm not too worried about it.

I think I found a new quirk. I can't calibrate the pen. I go through the control panel > hardware and sound > tablet pc setting > calibrate the screen for... > calibrate and I get "Error! The tablet driver was not found."

How do I fix this problem?

    You can check out JBA

I know he posted about having to reinstall some drivers because touch would stop working. Maybe his process will fix the calibration thing too, or maybe just going to Wacom and getting a new driver will help.

I've been to JBA's site. Plus I already downloaded the only driver Wacom offered at their website, which is the Enhanced Graphics Driver. BUT, my pen calibration issue has been solved. I downloaded the driver from Lenovo. It was listed under the "Optional" tab when you access their Software Updates from their Solution Center.
