X230T Stuck in Production?

I pulled the trigger on an X230T for university and I'm really pumped to get it but... I checked the order status and I have to say, me no gusta.



Did anyone else get stuck with their X230T being in production like me? I have to wait like a month to receive it which isn't the best service, as I thought they would have stock on hand.

Although if it is in production I understand it would be the second batch, so I think there would be much less lemons than the first production run... I guess that's life then, just going to have to suck it up and wait.

 

With last year's iteration, a lot of people had to wait for a month for their ThinkPad to ship something like 3 months after the release. So I'd say that this is quite normal given that it is a new product.

 

Ah alright thanks for letting me know. First time ordering a Thinkpad so it's quite the new experience for me.

I need it before September when I move out so I think I should be fine if I receive it around the end of July.

 

I ordered my 3434cto on the same day 6/29 and it just shipped today. This however is the 2nd order I've placed. I originally ordered on 6/8 and after waiting 3 weeks of it being in production, i cancelled the order on 6/28. Seems the smartcard reader was holding it up. On 6/29 I reordered without the smartcard with an estimated ship date of 7/5. To my surprise it shipped on time. You may want to see if there is a part backordered.

 

I doubt you will wait that long--Ive bought many laptops from Lenovo for people and the in production time is always overestimated. that way they don't have to deal with people calling all the time saying "Is my laptop done yet" if something goes wrong and they are pleased when it comes earlier.

 

You guys are awesome and totally correct. UPS says it's going to come tomorrow so it turns out I guess their estimate is just insurance in case it really does come that late. Totally hyped to get my X230T tomorrow!
