I picked up a Samsung 830 SSD for my X230t. When I had the SATA drive installed in the system, I installed a fresh copy of Windows using a "universal" Windows DVD that contained all the versions of Windows, followed by using an application called ABR backup and restore to complete the activation process. I assume this will work using the new SSD and following the same steps? Or would I need to use my backup DVD's I made when I got the system?
Thanks,
Rob

Yeah that would work fine, I performed many Windows 7 clean installs on various computers using the same procedure including my ThinkPad T420 with the Samsung 830 SSD and I yet to encounter any major problems myself.
