So which one of you will be an early adopter?![]()
-
Thanks for update sp00n. -
Not what I need.
Very nice though. -
So... when are those 20% X series coupons going to start rolling in... XD
-
Not much that you can upgrade. The only things I see are amount of RAM, the option to ditch the burner, and an option for WPAN.
I also see that the upgrade to Ultimate is free, unless that and Business have the same price. -
I wonder what this is: Lightweight Travel Bezel
Is that like a dummy UltraBay cover? -
I don't think the price is half bad considering the features.

Getting the X300 with 1GB of RAM, and no DVD-RW / extra battery is only $1974 using Visa discount and 10% savings. That is a hell of a deal!
-
Which battery option do you think is the best?
The 3 cell or the 6 cell?
I understand that the 6 cell bulges out.

That's my stance on it, anyway. -

Selecting anything will delay shipment by 4 weeks?
-
Wish I had the cash, otherwise I'd buy one
Now, I wonder when the T62 will be debuting ??? (Rubs hands together) -
I believe its actually a good deal. When I purchased the Sony TZ (also a road worrior ultraportable) with the 32GB SSD, and no OS, it was for about $2700 imported. So the fact that this one has a faster 64GB SSD drive for less than that when configured with the DVD drive 1GB RAM and Vista Ultimate is a great deal imo.
upgrade to vista ultimate is $56 from XP pro and upgrade to vista business is free. -

well seems they are now available on lenovo site, but what stinks is that i dont see where it says built in GPS and i dont have the option to have built in WWAN with either verizon or at&t.....
-
sorry, the last rep didn't give the right answer, GPS and WWAN are built on a 2 in 1 miniCard, which is not available yet.
-
I would have ordered one already if Lenovo could have gotten the price under $2k. I don't see any reason they can't offer it with regular hard drives. An option I am considering is ordering one and then swapping out the SSD for my 160GB 7200rpm drive and then putting the SSD on eBay. If I could get $500-$600 for the SSD that would put me where I need to be price wise. Can anyone confirm that it will work with a standard 2.5" sata notebook drive instead of the SSD?
-
oops, i posted in the wrong thread - gonna ask again here (didn't mean to cross-post)
Is that screen glossy? -
Screen is matte. The ssd is not 2.5" form factor. It may be a 1.8".
-
The drive is 1.8" with a SATA connection. You can see a pic below.

Yup it looks like the best option is to wait until HDD models become available. They should have the gps ready by then as well...
-
Lenovo Australia has launched these too (official launch event tonight). Unfortunately, unlike lucky Americans, we only get 2 preconfigured models, both with 3-cell standard battery and DVD drive (I don't want the DVD drive, I want the ultrabay battery). Poor choice. There is apparently a delay in sourcing the 6-cell batteries.
I'd like to know the actual battery life of these units before spending so much on it. Will also have to wait and see if Lenovo ever releases a 6-cell battery configuration here. -

-
Is there only 2-3 people here who actually ordered the X300 despite the hype surrounding it? Or is everyone else holding out for the bigger hard disk?
-
I take it the X300 isn't that popular despite the ridiculous hype surrounding its release? The 3-cell model is already available in major quantities, but it doesn't seem to be as hot as expected.
-
Well, I'm pretty sure that Thinkpads only grew in consumer popularity when the price dropped considerably and made it affordable.
The X300 is pretty expensive so most will shy away from it.
Plus we're waiting for a penryn and non-ssd
X300 now available to purchase at Lenovo.com
