Assuming that the price of the X200S (9 cell) and X300 (6 + 3 cell) were the same... which would you buy?
The X300 would appear to be a better buy because it comes standard with the SSD... I am guessing the X300 will be phased out shortly.

i prefer the X200S... i really don't see the point to buy the X300... the x200s has better cpu, video card, ram, etc etc etc etc.. and can have a ultrabase. The only downside is of course the optical drive but honestly it's an easy thing to solve. SSD will be cheaper in the future so i actually prefer buying a 7200rpm HD and then in a year or two.. pop in a SSD and use the HD as an external.

The X200s is newer, cheaper, and has slightly better specs in certain areas such as the GMA4500 integrated GPU compared to the 3100 on the X300.

I think it depends on your use. You should think about if you need the better specs of the x200s. The SSD might be good if you just want the notebook to be completely "bullet proof" to movement. I know I like having an SSD in my x200. I just toss it around. If you want the larger screen that is also a decision factor.
Also if you really need the tiny size then the x200s would be the obvious choice but I think you'd be happy with either considering the x200s is suppose to come with a higher resolution option when compared to the x200.
X300 or X200S
