I opened my X300 box got it connected for registration and java update etc.. i noticed so far 22.5GB is used

is it because of vista ?

i plan to have dual boot with ubuntu linux but with 22.5GB used i might take out the vista!

    whats your experience?

You could do a clean install and delete the recovery partition and I imagine that would free up some of that space.
