    Hello,
there is no F11 or something on boot where it restore the PC like it was on the day i got it on the box?

nothing preloaded to be plain darn windows vista installation without any app? so it doesn't come with 29GB used space from the installation day!

    thanks

You probably have to use the R&R CD you get with your laptop.

Try pressing the ThinkVantage button on boot.

Just install Vista and all the drivers off Lenovo's web site and you should have a complete OOBE setup.

That's odd. That's exactly what I did on my T61p.

the x300 with SSD does not come with rescue and recovery partition. as the SSD only has few space which comes at the hefty premium in price that the ssd commands. the result of all this is that the blue thinkvantage button does not take you to the re-install partition as there is none on the system.

it however comes with the better and my preferred solution, R&R disc! 3 of them to be precise.

    Disk No.

    1) R&R loader
    2) Windows Install Disk
    3) Preloaded software

if the OP for whatever reason does not have the disk anymore, call lenovo.

My X301 gives me the option to restore it to factory settings. I don't know if it works or not as I have not used it, but it does appear to give me the choice.

But maybe they changed it between the X300 and X301?
