So i have a x301 with win7 32bit, and the battery life has been nowhere nearly as good as i was hoping for it to be; with a 3 cell i only get about 2 hours of regular web surfing + office work, and with a 3rd party 6 cell, i only get about 3 1/2 hours.
is this something that everyone is experiencing?

I have Windows 7 64bit on my X301 with a 3 cell battery with the screen set the two notches up from the dimmest setting, with WIFI on, listening to music, and surfing the web, I'm getting about 3.5 hours out of that little 3 cell battery. If I were to turn WIFI off, and just work on documents, etc. I'd probably get like 15 or more minutes of juice.

how can you see anything on the 2nd to the dimmest setting? I've never understood that. I'm a full brightness or 2nd from the brightest kind of guy. I'm really asking, not mocking. Are you in like an office environment or just at home? I can only go that dim when I'm inside a plane. So when I'm working in a library, for example, I basically will halve the manufacturer's claimed battery life b/c that's been my usage pattern. Am I in the minority here?

You know, I think everyone's just different.
