    Hi All

I am trying to lower the noise on my X301 as the fan when in Bios mode more less always run with 4300 rpm giving a audible hiss.

I am running on Windwos XP and have tried to install TPfanccontrol V0.55.

When installed I am able to see the various temperatures on the board and the fan speed. However TPfancontrol does not seem to be able to control my fanspeed.

As an example when in manual mode the fan will run at 4300 rpm for all levels between 1 and 7... only level 0 will give a change to 0 RPM.

When I switch to smart mode the FAN is always off eventhough it should run levels between 1-5 according to the INI. file.

Does the program conflict with any Thinvantage programs I have most thinkvantage running in latest version such as Power manager? Do I need to do anything in the BIOS?

Any help or experience with TPfancontrol on X301 will be highly appriciated

    How did you install?

    How is your INI file?

    Regards
