Some funny business happening with the X301 page on Lenovo's website. Just took this screenshot in case anything changes...

The one on the left has been up for as long as I've been looking (well over a month), while the one on the right just appeared today. Both are listed as "ThinkPad X301 2777" on their respective pages, but with different prices and slightly different options. For example, the one on the right (the newly listed one) has the following extra options...

    - Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 Academic Edition [US only] [add $100.00]

    - UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad) with Fingerprint Reader
    - UltraNav (TrackPoint and Multi Touch TouchPad) with Fingerprint Reader [$0.00]

    - 64GB Solid State Drive
    - Intel 80GB High-Performance Solid-State Drive [add $100.00]

    - ThinkPad X300/X301 Series 3 Cell LiPolymer Bay Battery [add $120.00]

    - Integrated Wi-Fi wireless upgradable

    - No UWB WPAN

    Educational software application preload
    - Vital Source School Library for Windows 7 32/Vista 32/XP [add $30.00]
    - Adobe Elements 7.0 for Windows 7 32/Vista32/XP [add $50.00]
    - Adobe Digital School Collection 7.0 for Windows 7 32/Vista 32/XP [add $80.00]

Here's a screenshot of that page with default selections...

The only other discrepancy is the price: they price out the same with matching options but the new one does not reflect the $622 savings.

I also wonder if this is somehow connected to the survey results on last Tuesday's Lenovo Blog post...

Design Matters Blog Archive 5 Years, 5 ThinkPads.

...apparently the overwhelming majority (75%) of people preferred the X300 above all other laptops Lenovo has released since it acquired the ThinkPad line. heh

Just thought I would chronicle this in case the page disappears or there are new developments.

i don't get what you are trying to prove in this thread? So the evidence you have shown is suppose to prove that Lenovo will refresh the x30x line?

heh, not at all *scratches head*

This is a Lenovo forum and I thought ThinkPad enthusiasts would like to know that the X301 has received some minor updates.

There is still some remaining stocks of the X301, so i guess Lenovo is trying to move them out. Lenovo does this time to time, when they can find the spare parts or manufacturing capacity.

Lenovo have refresh most of their model this week. since they did not refresh the x301 this weak, the chances of their refreshing it later this year is very slim.
