Hello from Melbourne, Australia. Usually, there is an introduction thread on forums, I don't know whether I missed it here, so apologies if I did. great site which I found whilst trying to resolve a problem on the IBM/Lenovo site - without success.

I have an X31 (first used Jan 2004) which I purchased some 6 months ago after being disposed of by one of your mammoth corporations :D . I subsequently purchased a dock which I believe is the Ultrabse X3, which I use for CD/DVD.

My prob is that I cannot 'undock.' I use Windows XP which displays an 'unlock' facility in the start menu, but nothing will unlock from there. I have also used the Fn and F9 keys to no avail. The front of the laptop will raise about half an inch, but the rear of the base still seems connected. Naturally, i do not want to force it for fear of damage. I am unable to find any info after Googling for an hour! There is probably a simple solution that will make me look like an idiot - but I am prepared for it :( .

Thanks for that. I will now venture a look at X61 info incase I get inspired to upgrade!

    Cheers, Nigel

Do you mean physically undocking issure or OS issues when undocking..

At the back of the dock there should be an eject button to undock your laptop.

On the OS side IBM do have there own undocking software, I think its easyeject or something, have you tried this?

    Thanks Knight.

I meant physically undock. I have since learnt there is a lever to the left hand side of the base that needs to be released. I thought it would be simple, but too little info avail for these 'older' units now.

    Thanks, Nigel
