Just picked up an X41 (non-tablet) and I've got the following questions.

When I setup the screensaver password and try to use my fingerprint to log back in, it validates the fingerprint but doesn't log me back in. Is there another option I need to set? Kinda strange that it asks for my fingerprint but doesnt' log me back in (have to type password)

As for RAM upgrades, I was wondering how to tell if something's compatible. I've stumbled upon the following ram at newegg (on sale until tomorrow) and it looks pretty compatible to me, but kingston's website returns a different model number when I use the 'memory finder' app.

    Kingston 1GB 200-pin ddr2 so-dimm notebook memory
    ~$100 shipped + tax

    # Item #: N82E16820144183

Update: this ram works fine with the system

That does sound wierd cause my finger reader logs me right in. Could try re-installing the software. You can download it on ThinkPad's site. If not, give them a call and they will fix you up. Thats what you paid the extra for right? The memory is the right type and speed. Can always send it back. NewEgg's pretty good on returns for most stuff. Good Luck.

When I was upgrading the RAM I talked to Kensigton Technical Support and they explained to me that only certain memory configuration will work with IBM X 41 series.
My advice is to check Crucial because their prices are competitive and the memory is guaranteed to be compatible. Hope this helps.
