    X41t cant update embedded controller- - and other problems as well

    X41t 1867-J11, Pemtium M 1.5ghz , 1.5mb of ram, 60GB of HD, Docking station, Vista Home Premium.



    Well, according to this page: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67100#inf, the latest EC version is V1.02, mine is currently running 1.0. I have experienced problems (screeching noise from speaker and weak optical drive in the docking station) on this machine, and would like to update the EC to see if the problems go away.



    Well, I keep getting error message " DeviceIoControl returns 24" whenever I run the EC execute file...my bios is updated to 2.06 (surprisingly no problem), so I don't understand why the EC is such a pain in the butt.



    Anyway, I would really appreaciate someone to guide me to a solution. Thank you.
