    ive been looking to upgrade to a new laptop from my old one ((sony vaio pcg-xg500)) im looking for something small and portable. I need something when i go on vacation to upload pictures onto and see how they come out. theres a special goin now at lenovo and i was curious about a few things regarding the x60. can you buy over the counter memory from anywhere Ex:: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145157 or will i have to buy system specific ram??

    Same question. It seems that system specific memory is much expensive than generel one with the same specification from corsair.

    I would recommend using generic memory unless you like paying more. Generic memory has a slightly higher chance of not working as it is tested less before leaving the factory. Worst case is you'll have to send it back.

    Yep with memory prices falling drastically now a day, you can easily get a 1gb stick of Crucial or Kingston, both highly regarded name brand for 60 bux or less. You can also get other less name for around 50 or so (all of which come with lifetime warranty).
