The X61 is essentially an update to the X60 that adds support for the Santa Rosa platform. It features X3100 graphics as opposed to the GMA950 found on the X60. There aren't very many differences to be found other than those two; much of everything else is the same.
You'll gain some time with the ULV processor, but it's nothing huge, don't get riled up about it. -
Hi Chubbyfatazn okay some site where say they fix the swivel for the screen on x61 and some small issues does that seem about right ?

Below I outline they key differences between the X60s and X61s
X61s compared to X60s
X61s Features Core 2 Duo Low Voltage CPUs, which enables you to run 64 bit OS and thus be able to access up to 4GB of RAM.
X60s Features Core Duo Low Voltage CPUs, which enables you to run 32 bit OS and thus be able to access up to 3GB of RAM.
X61s is equipped with the Intel 4695AGN wifi-card in some versions. The Intel 4695AGN is said to run significantly cooler than the Atheros or older Intel wifi which the X60s is equipped with.
Because of the above, the X60s is said to have a hotter right palmrest than the X61s. However, the Santa Rosa motherboard in the X61s produces significantly more heat than the motherboard in the X60s. This results in the X61s fan running much more frequently than the X60s fan.
The X61s supports Turbo Memory (because its Santa Rosa), while X60s does not support Turbo Memory.
The X61s supports a wider selection of WWAN cards than the X60s.
Note that both the X60s and X61s can be configured in various ways (e.g. regular LCD or UltraLight LCD). However, the available configuration options are almost the same.
Summary
If you intend to run Windows XP (32bit), I would recommend the X60s, since using an X61s with Windows XP would give you few advantages (turbo memory does not work in XP and both models are restricted to max 3GB RAM in XP). However, the X60s runs cooler than the X61s which results in much less fan noise.
If you intend to run Vista, I would recommend either the X60s or the X61s depending on your needs. With X61s you get the option to run the 64bit versions of Vista, which gives you access to 4GB RAM while the X60s can only access 3GB RAM. An X61s also gives you the option to use turbo memory but the added benefit of turbo memory when having 2GB+ RAM is debatable. -
