I have no experience on tablet.. however it has SXGA. it is much better right?
Is tablet much heavier than non tablet?
It seems like regular X60 look better. (the look)
I have never used a standard screen before....

Oh, i will run Ubuntu and vmware mostly. Probably play some non heavy online RPG game like ragnarok.
Any suggestion will help. thank you

Go to BestBuy and play around with a tablet notebook. If you like it and see that it will be useful in the future, then get the X60T.

This is going to sound extremely obvious, but buy a tablet if you think you will actually use the additional features a tablet would provide. If you would use it in school to take notes or such, go for it. If you don't think you'd ever find yourself using it as a tablet, stick to the X60.

actually.. i was thinking go for the tablet just bcoz it has SXGA and the 4MB L2.
Well, I am a university student...i guess I can use tablet to take notes. But I worry that make me look stupid or something. Would I look like those 5 yrs old kid trying to draw pictures?

I am also interested in battery life and weight in tablet v.s non tablet.

Paper and pencil are the most efficient way of taking notes in college imo.

Anyone who thinks you look stupid probably isn't worth knowing. If you can look at get a look at the SXGA+ screen, I'd probably recommend it. Some of the text will be small. The tablet is a bit heavier if that's an issue.

unless i'm missing something, the sxga+ screen on the tablet does not have the wacom touch screen, which defeats the purpose of having a tablet.

apparently you are confused about "wacom touch screen" :D

The SXGA+ screen is Wacom-enabled, thus has full tablet functionality. What lacks is a passive touch-screen.

My cousin just entered college last year and he thought tablet pc would be fairly useful. He didn't end up using it because it was more convenient to use pen and paper as he thought it was easier this way. He ended up buying one of those pens that store handwritten data instead.

I am not saying this may be your case, but you should really consider how much benefit this would be and if it would be really that practical.

I just graduated from college and one of my favorite professors would bring his tablet to class every day, hook it up to the projector, and display what he was writing. He'd then PDF the file and post it online. The great thing was that you were able to spend more time focusing on what he was saying than frantically copying notes.

From this experience I started looking into tablets and found that pretty much everyone who has one and actually uses it absolutely loves it. I think it might be more useful for someone majoring in a Math/Science/Engineering subject, as you can easily draw diagrams, write code, and so on, but taking multi-colored notes is useful for everybody.
