how did you get it to configure L2400 without changing the price?
-
I didn't change the processory, but when I check the order status it shows a L2400
-
Same here. When I checked out, I think it still said L2300, at least when it was added to the cart. However, my email confirmation showed L2400.
-
4th of July was yesterday isn't it?
-
My order number and customer number won't let me check the order of my status. I think they just deleted my account.
-
I just checked and my order was cancelled. Oh well. It was worth a shot.
-
Well mine just got canceled....however, the deal is still up on their site, should I try again, and hope somehow it slips through?
-
you have to both type into your customer no and order no.
Mine has no problem yet.
Let's just wait and see. -
My order status is invalid now. can't check it online anymore, but lenovo has a temporary charge on my card
-
-
$25.20...
I wonder how long it will take to refund it
-
I guess the charge on your credit card is just an authorization. It does not really charge you until it is shipped.
-
Hmm... in retrospect, they didn't even charge me CA recycling fee for these things. Even if it went through, Lenovo would probably be sending me batteries or something
-
I gave it another try. I used the Bill me later so I don't have to worry about charging my credit card.
-
-
They're quick to cancel the orders but it takes a week to get them on the phone to speak with them.
-
Mine's still in process - but my ship date changed from 7/18 to 7/19. Ha
-
Check this out... http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_it_legal_for_an_online_store_to_cancel_an_order_36_hours_after_it_was_confirmed_and_you_already_have_a_receipt_because_they_have_entered_the_wrong_price_in_the_site_thus_making_it_cheaper
regardless of posting the "disclaimer"...they are still obligated to honor the quoted price. -
Apparently they don't feel obligated.
That's probably about what it costs to make them lol, but it was worth a shot- one in a billion shot.
I should have added 5 year warranty or something to get it up to a higher price. They probably all got automatically deleted. -
I Hope This Works
-
Obviously they aren't obligated to sell hundreds or thousands of laptops for over $1000 under retail price because of a price mistake. The answer in that link, even if it is true, states that its after one recieves a receipt of sale. Lenovo isn't sending out receipts, just order information.
-
-
I Guess Theyre Trying To Get Rid Of The L2300's??
-
Would be ironic if these ship quicker than the actual one I ordered weeks ago.
-
-
Internet can be both a blessing and a nightmare for them- I'd love to be in the room when the person who updated with that price get's his ass handed to him. -
Yet they still haven't fixed the price...
-
They're not going to, they'll keep it there to tease you guys with fake orders.
-
Granted this was an error on their part, that is obvious. However, they need to suck it up and honor the orders that were made.
I would be more understanding if the website didn't still have the error up...but it's still there. They are not making any effort to correct the situation.
I am personally going to file a complaint with the better business bureau. This would be akin to a car dealership putting an ad in the newspaper for $20 cars, but then telling people that car is sold but they have plenty more available at the regular price. It's false advertising to drive up visits to the site...which the better business bureau deems completely unethical. -
I could not agree more!
-
someone needs to do some research on whether or not if they don't notify that they canceled the contract its still valid.
-
I cannot check the order status now. Anyone here in the forum can still see the order status?
-
also, I called the customer support line.
After waiting on hold, the operator took my order number and put me on hold again for five minutes (the order was probably red flagged). He came back and told me there was a "typo" on the website and he would be "perfectly willing to help me replace the order at the regular price"
more evidence that they are using this tactic to drive up traffic to their site. -
There is nothing unethical about that. -
I'm so unsatisfied with Lenovo, although I will still let thinkpad be my first choice.
-
Take down the wrong price and apologize to everyone whose order was canceled with no explanation. -
Keep ordering guys, $20 laptops for all ...
-
-
...That was directed at Lenovo...not you Unhooked (I've got to work on my pronoun usage)! -
That's the way it's being done.
It takes a while for them to fix the price and then a few days to send out an email with the cancellation notification. -
I am in the market for a laptop right now...the race was between Dell and Lenovo. I'm glad I got a glimpse into the world of the Lenovo Customer Service before I made my final choice.
Dude...looks like I'm gettin' a Dell! -
-
Yeah you're using this to judge hteir customer service? I mean, you guys aren't familiar w/price mistakes? $100 -> $20 working is a good one, pushing the limit. $1000 -> $60 no WAY.
Understand, I'm not arguing with you, and it's a legit reason to seek another brand I guess, if you really hate their service- but THIS is par for the course for a price mistake. Rarely do substantial ones go through, NEVER ones like this.
But yeah I agree their cs sucks. I've been significantly screwed by them in the past, but love their notebooks enough to put up with it. To boycott from this would just be spite. This isn't an example of poor customer service.
Would have been nice -
Well, their website is now down. Perhaps they are fixing it.
-
Deal is dead, along with all of our orders. Oh well, it was worth a shot. ^^
-
This is some pretty crazy reasoning. Why punish yourself by spending on an inferior machine just because of a glitch on the Lenovo website. A glitch which was caught and repaired within hours of posting.
Did anyone honestly think that they were going to ship laptops out for $20??? It probably costs more to courier them to your house.
...... I was tempted to buy 20 though!!!!! hahahaha -
I think Lenovo should not treat like this without sending any mail or notification to us but cancel our orders.
Since it is all their fault, it is now like we are treated like a thief wanting to steal something from them. -
Well, no one seriously thought that they were going to get an x61s for just $25. If some orders do slip through, then you lucky bastards got THE deal of the year. If Lenovo cancels them, then no big deal.
But still, what a killing we would have made on ebay if those orders do get through... -
Taking something that you know was mistakenly mispriced is stealing in my books. Maybe I'm naive, but that's the way I see it. -
it took them a couple of hours to remove the mistake... that's crazy.
