Does anyone know if the both the size and polarity of the power connector on the X41 is identical to the X60S? Also are the power requirements of the
X60s equal to or less than the X41?

Targus reports they have no solution for powering the X60s on an aircraft at this time - "testing not completed".

Alternatively, can you suggest an differnt vendor's product?

Thanks for any and all help/suggestions.

    ... best ... abe - Charlotte, NC

    Abe,

There is a AC/DC combo adapter (40Y7630) with an aircraft style 15V
connector. Look at page 18 of book:
    ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/options/obi393en.pdf

I got this adapter a couple of days ago for my T60. Let me know if you
need a picture of the 15V connector and I'll post it.

AFAIK, Lenovo has changed the power connectors on all the Thinkpads which they have released thus making all older power adapters/connectors incompatible with new ones (and vice versa).

Thanks ... I took a peek at your suggestion .... All the aircraft seat power recepecals I am familiar with are two pin and not four pin. I would be leary about buying this one.

I think you are correct... none of the laptops I have seen have this same power connector. I'll keep looking... leaving on a trans-Pac trip in mid-September.. abe

I DID purchase the AC/DC combo power adapter P/N 40Y7649 FRU 40Y7656 with a caption of "LITE-ON TECHNOLOGY CORP" on the label. It is probably 2x the weight and size of the normal X60S AC Oiwer adapter, but it is rated at 90watts instead of 65 watts accounting for the additional bulk and weight. It works just fine with auto, A/C and Aircraft seat power. It turns out this unit has a single cord premantly attached to the brick that plugs into the PC and two connectors for additional cables - a 4-pin and a 2-pin. The 4 pin is for the cable that goes to the aircraft seat power (an adapter for Auto aux power plug is included), and the 2-pin is for an AC power cord - both are included. It is only necessary to carry this one unit when travelling.
