So now that I have the T61, I figure I might as well get the x series too. What is the difference between the x61 and x61s? Is it just the LV processor?

    1) Is there an x61 model without an antenna sticking out?

    2) Whats the battery life on the x61 with the flush 4 cell battery? How does it compare to the 7 cell with a t61 (which I have and like).

    3) Is the regular processor better than the LV processor? why get a x61s?

Are you guys finding the x61s has less heat probs than reported on x60s? Every other review mentions how hot the right palmrest gets.

The palm rest heat problem has not been fixed with the new X61/X61s. There are still stories of this on the Thinkpad Forum.

Yeah, thinking that heat is just gonna be a constant when you get down to a certain size.

I even hear heat horror stories on d420's, and they use ULV processors. Still, wish it were an option in X series.

You're right that the small shell creates a cooling challenge. Just like the GPU overheated the 14" T60 more than the 15" T60.

The atheros wifi card runs warmer than the intel card, and because they're under the right palm, that's a difference. But, many ppl found the intel card had poor or troublesome connectivity on the X. So, the choice was, hot palm rest or poor wifi.

I think few people have got the X61 or X61s by far.

Hmm whats the difference between the

ThinkPad X60s Series 4 cell Slim Line Battery
ThinkPad X60s Series 4 cell Enhanced Capacity Battery [subtract $38.00]

Why does the enhanced capacity battery cost less than the slim line one....

X61 uses an low voltage processor. The low voltage CPU should generate less heat than a regular CPU.

But I don't know if this difference in heat generation will translate into any noticeable difference in palmrest temperature under real world conditions.

Because it's more difficult to make smaller components.
