Ordered X61 tablet 5/31 (release date), first est date was 6/11, was then moved to 6/19. Called today and the rep told me they are "waiting on the shell". I assume this will delay all X61 configs. Said they *might* be able to ship the first week of July.
If I was one of the first people to place an order then why did they bother releasing it if they knew there would be shipping delays right from the start? I sat on hold for 2 hours to talk to customer service... my first Thinkpad experience is not going well. I am considering cancelling...
Is this the quality of service I can expect from Lenovo or is post-shipping service better?
Can anyone else confirm thier X61 has also been delayed?

I ordered an X61s on 6/8. My first est date was 6/21, was moved to 6/27. I also called them and had to wait for about 70 minutes to be able to talk to customer service. The sales rep told me that my laptop would be shipped on the 27th of June. Might be it is because you are getting an X61 tablet?

I ordered an X61 on 06/09/07, Ship date is holding steady at 06/28/07.

ordered 6/11/07, ESD is 6/28/07, been the same since.
few people who ordered x61t around 6/01/07 have shipped, you can follow their progress at forum.thinkpads.com under x61 shipping thread. -
don't hold your breath, my system never shipped yesterday and i got an email this morning notifying me of the delay. i then check my order status and now my estimated ship date is 8/10!!!!!! i have an email into customer service to find out what is going on...

Classic lenovo...releasing something they can't get to you. They'll probably punish the early adopters of the x61 just like they've punished the early adopters of the t61. Good luck guys
-
yeah i wouldnt put it past them I ordered mine on 5/31 and it was scheduled to ship on 6/19. I get an e-mail on 6/20 at 2am in the morning telling me it'll be delayed from 1-30 days, guess where the actual number is in the range? Anyways the new shipdate is 7/20 and I won't even be in the country... whats the deal here ibm??? All this technology and you can't keep track of how many you have and how many you sold??

Wow as far as August! If I don't get my X61s (EST 22/06/07) before 10th of July I will cancel it. I have a very important trip on the 12th.
-
as long as they ship before tailormade expire, i am happy. -
so far, no one get X61 or X61s from lenovo?
-
I ordered my X61s on 6/17... ESD is 7/19.
-
i ordered my x61 (7675CTO) on 5/31/07 then i realized they came out with faster processors. i called the sales rep on 6/7/07 and modified my order (got a T7500 cpu) doing this has reset my estimated ship date. since 6/8/07 my estimated ship date is 6/27/07

My order status page still says Est Shipping 8/10 however I received this reply from lenovo:
"I do apologize for the confusion the August ship date is incorrect. You placed your order on May 31, the shipping date is approximately 4-5 weeks from the day you ordered it. I have sent an e-mail to our supply coordinator to try and find a more accurate shipping date for you."
Haven't heard anything back yet... so I guess we shall see...
Even 4-5 weeks is completely unacceptable waiting for a computer to be built and shipped, especially being one of the first people to order it (you would think the parts would be ready to go upon a "release") -
i posted this on a different thread also but have you guys checked this lenovo blog:
http://www.lenovoblogs.com/insidethebox/?p=84
they offer some explanations and updates. -
thanks, thats a good explanation of why my order says 9 weeks to ship instead of the 4-5 weeks they now claim...
however, lenovo shouldn't take 4-5 weeks to ship a laptop anyway... i think thats the real issue. i hope they at least get my date resolved so I know what to expect (the page said "1-2 weeks" when I placed my order) -
my X61s ESD shows tomorrow. I think it must be delayed. what a big company lenovo is! NO HONESTY!
-
Mine got delayed today too.
ordered on 6/2, first est ship date 6/21, now delay to 7/10
