    Hi Guys,

We recently got an X61 Tablet. It came pre-loaded with Vista and we verified that everything on it was working (hardware-wise everything is OK). We wiped it out and loaded XP on it by loosely following instructions at http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=188992

By and large everything works OK, but we got a few knick knacks that we need to get working and need help with:

We have Windows XP SP2 loaded on the machine - clean load with all MSFT updates.

There are no "unknown devices" in the device manager.

#1 Our Touchscreen is not working (neither with the pen, nor with the finger). On other tablet PCs that we have done this with in the past (non-IBM) there was a software that needed to be put in startup folder that ran the touchscreen part of the screen, there is also a device under "Mice and other pointing devices" that gets listed. In this case, we have neither.

#2 The on-monitor buttons (screen flipper, Esc, the one between them, and the arrow pointer) are not functional. We downloaded the Hotkey utility, but that didnt fix the problem.

#3 (and this may explain the other 2) the instructions say to download "UltraNav" drivers and utility. If UltraNav is what's required for these to work, that would explain it. We were unable to find anything on Lenovo's driver site that mentioned UltraNav...

    Please help!

XP Tablet Edition may be a needed version to make your touchscreen work. Tablet PC functionality is built into all the Vista OS's, but not all XP OS's.

Agreed. You may need to request downgrade CDs/DVDs for XP Tablet PC Edition.
