    Hi
Recently got this X61 tablet, it is running Windows Vista business.
It keeps hanging, completely hangs, freezes to death in the middle of the action. I can't figure out why.

This hang problem is so frequent, I am getting tired of this laptop.

Anybody see this happen to them.
    It's a 7767-B7U
It's under warranty, I was thinking of calling Lenovo support for help.

When it hangs, can you pull up the Task Manager at all?

If you move that machine around while using it, the hard drive protection might be causing the hanging.

Other than that, like Arkit3kt said, i would open the task manager and see which process is getting cpu.

    Hi
You are absolutely correctly, moving around cause the X61 to hang. I have lower end model laptops like T41 which works great even while moving around with it while running. Besides that even otherwise it hangs just like that in the middle of some activitiy.
It's has 3GB of memory, i don't know why it still hangs.

I will wait to see if Lenovo support will come up with some solution to this issue.

    Thanks.

It hangs because you have Active Protection System enabled. The older T41 models don't have this feature I don't think.

    This is what it does:

It's a ThinkVantage utility. You can adjust its sensativity to reduce hanging.

Yeah, you have the Active Protection System on from Lenovo as Ark says. Go to your control panel and then click on the ThinkVantage Active Protection and adjust the settings there.
