I'm trying to install vista 64 business on my X61. After installing the original (non sp1) vista 64, I did the microsoft update and about patches installed successfully. Now, I'm installing the thinkpad update utility, chose many options to install at the computer has been hung for over 10 hours saying installing modem (thinkpad update software).

I think I read something about a problem with vista 64 and modem but can't find it again.

Does anyone know of issues related to vista 64 and x61 tablet? I'm thinking of calling lenovo and doing a hardware service call but if it's a s/w issue it won't help.

    thanks,
