Whenever I undock my X61 and then try to put it to sleep, the X61 goes to sleep and then, within 4 seconds, wakes up. Same thing happens when trying to hibernate it.

Except when undocking, the X61 goes to sleep and hibernates normally.

What is the cause? What is the solution?

    TIA :)

I had this problem and discovered it only happened when the network cable was plugged in. Perhaps the cause is the same for you since undocked the network cable will also be unplugged. To fix it, go into the properties of the network card in hardware manager and turn off the ability for it to wake the computer up from standby.
