Is there anyway I can get a DVI out with the X61? I don't see a DVI out with the ultrabase.

There is no DVI with the ultrabase? I thought that was one of the primary reasons to get the ultrabase next to the built in optical drive. I wish laptop makers would give up VGA already and go to DVI.

I found out the hard way that even if the ultrabase has DVI, it may not work depending on the notebook being used.

I had a Z60t and ordered a docking station for it with DVI. Once I received it, I discovered that my particular laptop wouldn't activate the DVI. Apparently some Z-series the DVI will work with, and others not.

You'll want to do your homework before buying if DVI is a must.

Wow - no DVI with the X61!? Thats ridiculous! Isn't this the state of the art, cutting edge ultra professional portable laptop???

I don't understand why they wouldn't put that on the Ultrabase!? Doesn't the T61 Port Replicator have a DVI output?

Jackboot - curious, does the T series support DVI output via port replicator??

Well up to and including the Nappa chipset, the Intel integrated graphics chip did not support DVI.

I think it is only with the recent introduction of the Santa Rosa chipset has the new Intel integrated chipset started supporting DVI.

How does Apple do it then? The Macbook has Napa and DVI.

Early Z60's didnt throw DVI out of the docking stations, but every with the core 2 duo does. There isnt any model sold currently that wont put out DVI even with integrated video.
