I have an X61 tablet and the Think application that puts the little battery icon on the taskbar (to the left of the system tray) displays the incorrect information sometimes.

    Normal display:
On battery power: Shows a battery icon with the remaining power percentage on the battery. When you cursor over the icon the tool tip tells you percentage remaining and time remaining.

On AC power: Shows a battery icon with the remaining power percentage on the battery. When you cursor over the icon the tool tip shows you percentage remaining and time to full charge.

    Abnormal display:
    On battery power: Works normally.

On AC power: Shows percentage remaining...but it's never 100%. It will always stop at 99% or lower. When you cursor over the icon, the tool tip tells you percentage remaining, but not time to full charge.

I've installed all the updates through the ThinkVantage System Update. It installed a new version of the Power Manager...but the problem described above still exists.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Thinkpad will not top off the battery until the charge drops below 96% or so. This prolongs the battery's lifespan versus topping off to full all the time.

This should be FAQ material ;)
