The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I know there are X61 with penryn at other retailers- but... Looks like penn state students can get their hands on the systems directly through Lenovo-

    Go to customize page for X61 and there are penryn options...

    The base price is bloated but the penryn upgrades are $30 or so (all the way up to T8300, they also have T7500 NV- I wonder what that is)-
