Hi everybody,
My wife is looking at buying a computer for work (budget $3000), and ideally would want an X61 with a dock (not the X6 ultrabase). She'd get the best of both worlds: a comfortable computer at the office with big screen and keyboard, and a tiny light computer for travel.
1. Lenovo does not seem to have any dock compatible with the X series, however. Am I missing something?
2. They only sell the X6 ultrabase. Does it function like a dock? For example: she wants to be able to just push the computer down in the dock/base and press a power button, without having the laptop's screen open. Is that possible with the ultrabase?
3. If the X series doesn't work with docks, why would Lenovo not do that? It sounds to me like the best solution for people who split their time between office and travel!
thanks a lot for any tips. Let me know if you need more info to answer.

You are correct there is no dock for the X series. The ultrabase is essentially a dock. What does the dock give that the ultrabase does not?

Thanks for the answer! I read the specs very carefully and it turns out that there is a power button on the base, so the base functions like a dock. My bad. She has an X24 right now, and the base doesn't have that ability to turn on the laptop from the base, without opening the screen.
So it seems that she's all set. Thanks again!
X61 with dock?? (not ultrabase)
