There used to be an option for a ThinkPad N card, but I think due to popular demand and low supply, it was discontinued. Hopefully, Lenovo starts selling them again.

Man, that is a shame indeed. I hate how Intel 4965 won't let me connect above 130mbps using 2.4ghz... Lenovo thought there was something wrong with my current card and is sending me a replacement and I was hoping that they can send me the THinkpad N card.

If anyone has a item number or anything to ID this card, please let me know. I doubt they even keep in parts bin.

    Ok got it.

Now, I am reading that Bios setting may prevent usage of Thinkpad AGN card with X61s - is this acccurate? Also some issues relating to heat.

The ThinkPad or Atheros card does run warmer though supposedly offers better range. I noticed no difference myself.

Primary reason why I want the Atheros card is to be able to do above 130mbps on 2.4ghz.
