A couple days ago my x61s fell about 3 feet from my desktop to the floor. Now when I start it up it just stops at the Thinkpad screen and fails to boot windows from there. It doesn't freeze, because I can still press the Thinkvantage button, then esc, and it'll continue on to load windows.

So yeah it's not a huge deal, but it's pretty annoying and I'd like to know what's going on. Is the head of my hard drive damaged or something? I haven't noticed any other problems...

HDD is the first place i'd look. Run some diagnostics on it.

I got excited that there was a potentially helpful reply in my topic, but then I noticed it was by ZaZ and all hope dissipated.

If it doesn't get past BIOS screen then it's can either be RAM, CPU, or HDD not seated properly, or the HDD is toast.
