    hi Everyone,
I have an X61t but it came with vista preloaded and I have had nothing but trouble for some time with crashes and blue screens until I loaded the absolute fresh drivers from intel for turbo memory and some more new ones from lenovo. The crashes have now totally gone, but the laptop is pretty slow for the config.
I have been told that a clean install is a good option, but I have not been able to find any numbers on the memory/services/threads/processes that will be in use with a clean install vs a standard lenovo install.
Does anyone know what these numbers are?
I have the following on my machine now:
    RAM: 1GB - 900MB startup
    Processes: about 85 or so.
    Threads: 850.
Services: dont know how many but I need atleast 5 page downs to see the full list in the task manager window.

I know a lot of this can be due to the crapware that is on the machine, I have already trid to uninstall most of the crap that came with it and these numbers are after a bit of effort.
So does anyone know how much these numbers can be improved to?

    Thanks
    sekhar

Use thinkvantage to do a restore and uncheck all the extra programs that normally come pre-installed..

I actually used the thinkvantage base software administrator program to create a new manifest and deployed it on my service partition but when i start it in restore mode the new option scheme does not show up.
i only get the standard restore screen that looks like it will restore to the original config.
    any tips?

    Thanks
