I do not know when the Y-650 was released, but I would like to know if anyone has received their Y-650 yet. If so, any thoughts about it would be appreciated. I know that the Y-550 and Y-450 are suppose to be released in the coming weeks. I am not sure which one to get.

I was one of the first to receive the Dell XPS Studio 1640. I sent it back after one week after not being satisfied with the right speaker being 8 db louder than the left at 50% volume. Also, a potential heat issue with the display blocking 80% of the vent when opened.

    Thanks,
    Thraak

It may just be Lenovo getting buyers' hopes up, but take a look here- IdeaPad Y650 - it's showing that the Y650 ships within 2 business days on the Lenovo site!?

The Y650 looks promising and I'm anxious to see the Y450 and Y550 that should appear any day now! BUT, I wish Lenovo would offer at least one screen resolution upgrade on the IdeaPads! Even if it just the top one or two pre-configured models had the higher resolution. I really like the Y530 and contemplated buying it for home use, but I just couldn't deal with the WXGA (1280x800) 15.4" display...and there were no Penryn processors offered at the time I was shopping either.

Hopefully, the Y650 will have the option of a 1920x1080 LED to be competitive with the Dell Studio XPS 16 and HP Pavilion HDX 16t....otherwise, it looks like a winner!

Wow I didn't even check that today! I'm waiting on the Y450 if the price is good, I'll be ordering one very quickly. Its either that or another T400

I am an admitted newbie to the Lenovo brand. I noticed that now through Feb. 12th, they are offering 15% on IdeaPad Y and U Series notebooks. My question is, do they, (like Dell), always run one type of sale or another? Or, should I order this laptop now?

    Thanks,
    Thraak

If you need it now, like ASAP you should buy it, if you can wait, then wait. Lenovo is offering constantly coupons, you might want to wait for a better deal, but if you need it now, 25% off is as good as it sounds.

They used to give out the coupon, with 5 to 7% off the ideapad

With 15 % off, it's a really good deal, trust me, I have been brought 3 thinkpads and 1 ideapad from lenovo.
