I just picked this machine (i7/8gig/256) up in the last few days and have been wrestling with the same issues that seem to be common. Poor WiFi, Bluetooth etc... I think I have read most of the posts in the lounge on this.

I am going to fight hard to keep this machine. I have 11 days left in my return period. The issue with the wireless appears to be not isolated to this device alone, but appears to be more of an Intel/Microsoft thing. There are many users in many forums complaining about it. There is an 80 page thread on the Intel forums from owners of many devices using the 7260 card and 8.1. On the front page Intel acknowledges the issue publicly.

I have had access to the RTM 8.1 bits for a while and decided to install them tonight to see if there is any improvement. I have installed them on several other machines without issue.

I don't know about the wireless woes yet, but I will report that the display scaling on the desktop is markedly improved. Before the update Office 2013 while usable was a little off. The improvement is quite noticeable.

The machine is also faster. I think this is set for release next month on patch Tuesday.

I will put it through the paces for a few days and see what the wireless shows. Maybe the Windows bit of the wireless bugs are sorted and Intel can get us updated drivers.

I really want to keep this machine.
