Optical drive: Slot-in DVD writer
Ports: 3 X USB2.0; FireWire; RJ11 (modem); RJ45 (Ethernet); VGA out; S-video out, PC Card slot (??)

I've indicated in bold features that are oustanding. And where I put (??), means let's find out what the screen res is and if it's really just a PC Card slot instead of an Express PC Card.
Here's a link to a great pic, scroll halfway down, and don't look at the model:

Nice Lenovo Y400 pictures can be seen here:

I want the biometric software on that machine for my V100
-
Just hope the processer can be 1.83GHz or higher. Nice pictures there, hiding touchpad
-
Well, the 15th is in four days, so hopefully someone buys one in Asia.
-
Anyone seen this one in Asia, folks? It's supposed to ship today.
-
Not yet, dont think they be on time.
-
I saw a working prototype Y400 n person last July. But didn't take pictures, so I'm no use. It was quite sweet though -- the shuttle button was kind of gimmicky and the most idiotic thing was on the prototype I couldn't figure out where the power button was. Yeah, there I sat as a "notebook expert" with a Lenovo marketing guy watch me struggle to find how to turn the thing on. In my defense, it was impossible to see witch button was actually the power button.
-
Well, I'm sure that has changed markedly in the real thing, as you can see from the pix, if you stop staring at the model for a moment!

Please, anyone in Singapore see this lappy yet? Please report back here, or PM me, if you have any more details.

OK, so the critical issues were not mentioned, but how about any good points?
Can't read Chinese or I would not ask. -
from the additional review websites, the battery in mobilemark2005 can stand for around 3.5-4hours , but some customer said their unit only last for 2:20hours
the heat dissipation was good, no serious heat problem in particular area, all stays equally warm after few hours of usage
they did mentioned the keyboard has no flex and each key is well made, nvr feel uncomfortable after long hour usage, but still they didnt compare it w thinkpad keyboard.. touchpad wise, they prefer the old type, the new design makes them always miss the pointer control
the 2.1 speakers was great, however they didnt compare it with competitors like HP/Compaq Altec Lansing -
can't read much of the review,....
so don't know if it live up to our expectations...
although i do like the pictures of the "Snow Mountai" limited edition of the F40/Y400
Also on the notebook, it has a sticker that says "igrs", does anyone know what that is?... -
Didn't see any yet on the street, may be they wait for Vista release then hit the market with it.
-
Has anyone ever seen this lappy?
