Hi, how does this laptop deal with heating? Does it reach 85-95 easily while playing GPU intense games like Tomb Raider? Is it safe to play more than an hour of 3D heavy game? How about if supported by external cooling pad or thermal paste?

Looking for a nice laptop for some gaming and mostly photo processing and video editing and hoping Y400 resolution won't hinder.

I am on the larger Y500 and I have yet to hit a heating issue. I played Saints Row 3 for many hours on the highest settings and I use an under-laptop cooling pad and the laptop felt like I just turned it on. Hope this helps.

Wow thanks good to know. What kind of cooling pad do you recommend?

I honestly have no suggestions. I bought mine at Best buy like four years ago.
