Hi, Ok I was looking to get a Y400 but the 1366 x 768 could be a small hindrance in productivity for video and photo editing? The Y500 is the better choice then? and more headroom for gaming, reading, and such.

Well, the answer is probably obvious. With the Y400 I could always hook up to an external monitor but in the event that I don't have, it should be fine to work with Y400 resolution, but even better to have the 1080 readily availble with the 1920 x 1080.

Well ill put this in perspective for how I use my laptop. I am a college student and we have a TV in our dorm room. My roomate always plugged his laptop into the tv for videos and such and once I return for summer session I plan on doing what he did. Most tvs now are 1080p (higher end) and having a lower laptop resolution can be an inconvenience. Also, the Y500 has 750M SLI. Get it. Pm me for anything bud
