    Hey all,

I'm not too sure what's going on but hopefully someone can shed some light and assist. Recently, my computer has had issues with startup/shutdown/restart/uninstall/install/freezing. I've also experienced severe lag on Chrome (which I've uninstalled and factory reset).

    Startup:
I haven't added anything specific and even after a factory reset, the speed of the startup is still 10x longer than when it came out of the box.

    Shutdown:
Sometimes shutting down the computer takes almost 15-20 minutes for it to process. Something seems to be stuck and holding it from shutting down on time.

    Restart:
Same issue as above but on restart

    Uninstall:
Uninstalling certain programs is taking me up to 2 hours (specifically the ones that are pre-installed like NITRO 8 and Youcam).

    Install:
Sometimes programs install fast. Sometimes slow. Sometimes it takes several hours to install. Ex. installed a new game on steam and it took standard 10-15 miuntes. Installed another game and it took 3 hours.

    Freezing:
Sometimes, when I close the lid on SLEEP and open it back up, it takes about 5-7 minutes for the screen to register and unfreeze. Same goes for random operations on the computer. I can have 3 ie windows open, itl'l freeze for 15-20 seconds, then work. I'm playing games on Steam and sometimes (irregardless of internet connection since I've tried different ones and other people are fine on the same one), it will freeze every 15-20 seconds for 5 seconds.

    Question:
Is this a hard drive issue? I'm concerned that there may be something wrong with my hard drive. Do I need to replace with M.2? If yes, model and plans?
Is this a fan issue? I'm wondering if this may be due to fan getting clogged up or whatnot.
Is this an OS issue? Did my 24gb cache mess up and screw things up?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out.

Have you checked event viewer? Do you have a frequently occuring "iaStorA" warning? If so, that might point to the express cache being the cause. Plenty of people have had trouble with the 24GB SSD in the past.
If you're fan is running, then its most likely not the cause, but you can check your temperatures using HWmonitor.

I don't get any warnings. These issues have been popping up with no warning or error sign.

Have you checked expresscache? In CMD type: eccmd -info

Have you checked if the problems persist in safe mode? E.g. shutdown/sleep.

So it's still going on now. At times, I even get a BSOD on startup saying unable to boot...but then i restart and it works again (but long load times).

I'm thinking it has something to do with the express cache.

Does anyone have steps to take to replace/fix that thing? ie. if I bought ( http://mydigitalssd.com/sata-m2-ngff-ssd.php) to replace it, how can i transfer the files over, install, and ensure this doesn't happen again?

It keeps doing this and now my comp has shut off on it's own and took 4 hours to restart.

Would this be a motherboard issue or the 24gb drive?
