So I received my new Y410P today. I ordered the 1TB + 8gb SSD model. I can find no where that mentions this SSD. I opened up the back, breaking two tabs in the process. I see the hdd, ram, wifi card, and the empty m2sata bay. Where is the 8gb drive? Is it even there? According to windows device manager there is only the 1tb hdd. I paid for the 8gb ssd and i just want to make sure it's there and I didn't pay for something that isn't even there. Any help or information will be greatly appreciated. I've not found anything that definitively says it's located "here". Kinda upset that it's not in the m2sata but I don't want to call customer service and sound like an idiot if it is in fact there just somewhere else. Could it mounted to the MB or something? I honestly have no clue. Thank you again.

The SSD cache is integrated into the hard drive itself and is not user accessible.

So the cache is physically located inside of the 2.5" 1TB HDD? I'm just making sure I understand. I do apologize for not understanding the whole "hybrid drive" concept. I was under the assumption there would be a stand alone regular platter drive and then a stand alone 8gb ssd drive (i assumed it was msata at the time of purchase since no true specs were mentioned). If that is what you are saying I guess it is in there, there is no way to know I guess. Nothing I can find in windows mentions anything.

I'm thinking this is what you are talking about. I guess I am stupid. I do apologize. Thank you very much for the response though! :) I was getting upset when I didn't see a physical drive for the 8gb. Cheers. Now just to get linux installed on it and it'll be a usable machine...lol
