I just got a Y410p (two weeks ago), primarily for software development work. The overall quality has been fine, there was one pleasant surprise (single 8GB DIMM), and I have one or two quibbles, neither of which are surprises -- the screen is meh quality, and the trackpad is terrible. I knew about those problems going in, and I use an external mouse and display most of the time anyway, so no big deal.
There is one more serious problem I have with it, though. The Home key on the keyboard seems like it's not totally locked down. If I hit it moderately hard (touch typing speed), it "pops up" and seems to be holding on to half of the key switch mechanism underneath.

I'm concerned that this is the infamous ideapad quality problem I've been hearing so much about. Until now, I haven't seen it, or it hasn't bothered me that much, but this is troubling. I can usually get it to pop back into place, but I worry that it will eventually fail completely.
Anybody seen this before?

Am I the only one here with a useable/working touchpad?

my trackpad is perfectly fine. It's not that bad once you get the latest drivers and get used to it. I haven't had a key pop off my keyboard yet, but some of the smaller keys are kinda wobbly. You might want to tweak some of the contrast settings in the intel graphics control panel to make the screen look slightly better.
